I help adults overcome feelings of self doubt, poor self esteem, depression and anxiety so they can live a better, happier life.

*Do you have trouble liking yourself just the way you are?

*Do you often feel you are not good enough?

*Do you “get into your head” and “over think” everything?

*Are you drinking too much or using substances to cope?

*Have you suffered from some form of trauma?

*Do you compare yourself to others?

I know after therapy you want to:

*Feel more confident and be able to experience true happiness

*No longer allow fears and anxieties to paralyze you

*No longer allow others moods to dictate how you think, feel and act

About Me

Having struggled with self esteem issues and self doubt at various times in my life, I understand how difficult things can be.  I am familiar with that little voice that whispers in your ear saying, “You can’t do this or you are not enough”.  I have experienced that tightness in my chest that you may also feel.  But there is always more to us than our struggles.  For instance, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.  I have over 25 years experience working with the most amazing clients.  Some of the techniques I utilize:

*Cognitive Behavioral

*EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)

*Hypnotherapy

*Problem Solving and more

*Issues Unique to Women

I LOVE coffee!  Did I mention, I LOVE coffee?  I have a weakness for shoes and purses. (But who doesn’t)  My motto is:  CHOCOLATE UNDERSTANDS!  Because it does!!

I need to laugh often as it fills my soul.

Exclusively providing services via Telehealth.

Research shows therapy provided remotely is as effective as therapy provided face to face.

While some prefer to be seen in office, others find it more convenient to have sessions remotely via secure internet platform.

You can use your smart phone, tablet or laptop and you can physically be anywhere!  You could be at home, in your car, outdoors, etc.  Pretty cool, huh!

I am committed to proving you with high quality, individualized care in all delivery modalities.

FAQ's

Will you keep things we talk about private?

To answer this simply, Yes, Yes, and Yes!  If you want me to disclose information to someone outside our sessions, you would fill out a form called Release of Information. You can be very specific regarding what information you would like for me to release. You can also revoke a release at any time.  By law, I am required to maintain confidentiality except in the following situations:

*If I have reason to suspect a client is seriously in danger of harming themselves or others.

*If I suspect past or present abuse or neglect of children or elders.

What Can I Expect in Therapy?

I will provide you support, encouragement, problem solving skills and coping skills.  These can assist you with the issues you are struggling with.  I will provide that “new set of eyes” to evaluate and recommend action steps.  We will work together to develop goals for your life’s journey.

Why Do People Go to Therapy?

I can’t imagine navigating our lives and trying to do it all by ourselves! The beautiful thing is we don’t have to do it alone.  Sometimes we just need to know that we matter!  Sometimes we may not feel strong and we may have stopped believing in ourselves.  Even if you are feeling that way right now, I can be strong beside you until you start standing on your own more.  I will treat you warmly, with dignity and respect.

Do you accept my insurance?

To determine if you have mental health coverage through your insurance carrier, you would start by calling them.  I will also check your benefits to verify information.

I am credentialed with the following:

*Wellmark BC/BS, Blue Cross Blue Shield Optum/United,

Midlands Choice, Iowa Total Care (Medicaid)

Good Faith Estimate: Those Who Don't Have Insurance or Aren't Using Insurance

Under section 2799B of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and heath care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program or not seeking to file a claim with their plain or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive "Good Faith Estimate" of expected charges.  Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you chose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. For questions or more information about your rights to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

If you believe you’ve been wrongly billed, you may contact: Iowa Board of Behavioral Sciences, idph.iowa.gov or Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board,  ksbsrb.ks.gov
